He holds the Bachelor's degree (obtained in 1994) in Mechanical Engineering from the Escola Superior de Tecnologia e Gestão de Leiria. He holds a Master's Degree in Mould Design and Manufacturing, a degree obtained in 2006 and a PhD in Science and Polymer Engineering from the School of Engineering at the University of Minho, a degree obtained in 2010. He has been a research member at the Institute of Polymers and Composites at the University of Minho since December 2011. Performed AutoLisp application programmer for AutoCAD, Technical Assistance to products and accessories for moulds and Introduction of new products on the market for REROM, LDA., from January 1995 to October 1996. From November 1996 to October 2001, he worked as Programmer for custom applications in AutoLisp and C ++, Design and Dimensioning of Structures and Pipes, Work Planning, Managing of Instruction Manuals for Equipment, Stock Management and Computer Network Management, for FORNOCER MICA, Kilns and Industrial Equipment for Ceramics, S.A. - Leiria. He was a managing partner at ISOlinha, Lda. - Alcobaça, a company providing services in the area of engineering projects, namely, metallic structures, ventilation and natural gas networks, from January 1998 to October 2001. Since November 2001, he has been lecturing at the School of Technology and Management in Leiria, being part of the Mechanical Engineering Department. He lectures curricular units in this scientific area, such as Technical Design, Mechanical Technology, Industrial Production Processes, Mold and Plastic Design, Mold Design, Advanced Manufacturing Processes, Industrial Design, among others. He is an integrated member and researcher at the Institute of Polymers and Composites at the University of Minho, focusing his research areas on subtractive, formative and additive manufacturing processes, microtechnologies and, more recently, on direct digital manufacturing. The results of the research have been published in international indexed scientific journals and in renowned international conferences, with scientific peer review. He also assumed other relevant functions, such as Supervision and Coordination of Internships in the Mechanical Engineering course until 2007, Training Monitor for Technological Specialization Courses, Technical responsibility of laboratories and was Coordinator of the Master’s in mechanical engineering - Industrial Production of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria de January 2011 to February 2018. He is currently coordinator of the Master of Engineering for Direct Digital Manufacturing since December 2018. He was a research member of the CEMICRO - Center for Excellence in Micromanufacturing project, representing the Polytechnic of Leiria. The project started in July 2006 and ended in June 2008, having been supported by ADI, under reference 040 / 7.1 / ADI / NOR. He assumed the Scientific Coordination of the MouldOne I&D project, promoted by Famolde, S.A. and financed by QREN - 7th FP under the number FCOMP-01-0202-FEDER-018415 and the Coolmold project - Development of High Efficiency Refrigeration Processes and Molding, based on Vacuum Systems, promoted by DRT-Rapid, Protótipos e Moldes, Lda. (Leiria, Portugal), funded by QREN PO FC under No. 34062, representing the Polytechnic of Leiria.
